The date of the demonstration was set for February 24, 1935 at 3:00 at Convention Hall, 34th Street and Vintage Avenue in West Philadelphia. On February 11, Cardinal Dennis Dougherty sent a mailing to the priests of the Archdiocese asking them to announce the meeting at all Sunday Masses urging their parishioners to attend.
