Before an 18” x 11” canvas of Our Lady of Guadalupe, painted by the Mexican Sisters of the Visitation, speeches were delivered by Bishop O’Hara, Cardinal Dougherty, and the Honorable Clare G. Fenerty, congressman from Pennsylvania.
The meeting received extensive coverage in the Philadelphia press and was reported in Catholic newspapers throughout the United States, Canada, England, Ireland, and as far away as New Zealand.
